Disclaimer: My GPU can only have one monitor on with the Oculus Rift. This is why one screen is off.
This is my set up for the Oculus Rift + motion controllers:
- Headset
- 2 x sensor
- Xbox controller
- Wireless adapter
- Motion controllers
- Oculus remote
Headset: The head set is like your screen. The cable is 12 feet long so there is plenty of space to move around. The headset is adjustable, fits comfortably. You need a HDMI port and a USB port to plug it in.
Sensors: Tracks where you are and your movement. It needs to be placed at least 3 feet apart. Ideally it should be on the same level.
Xbox controller: Your standard xbox controller. I haven’t played any games on the controller, I’ve been using the motion controllers. that being said I’ve only played four games on the Oculus Rift.
Wireless Adapter: Helps you pair your Xbox controller.
Motion controllers: Like your normal controllers. Has A , B , X ,Y buttons, left and right trigger and left and right sticks. Takes Double A batteries.
Oculus Rift Remote: Helps you navigate in the interface. Can also be used in games.
You need a lot of ports for the Oculus rift. It needs 3 USB ports, and one HDMI port. You will also need a lot of space for the Oculus to work. 7.2 X 7.2 feet (2.2 metres X 2.2) is recommended. However I have 6×4 feet and it works fine. Not all games require you to move around.
