Last year the Nintendo classic sold out within minutes. Nintendo soon announced they would discontinue production in March 2017. With high demand and low supply. This lead to many people missing out.
The super Nintendo classic is set to come out on September 29th 2017. Now with the recent news that you can only pre-order one, and with the waiting list just keeps getting growing, there is a real chance of missing out. Here are five things you can do if you don’t get the super Nintendo classic.
- Panic. Yes panic because based off last years release of the NES classic, they only released a number of units. Not to mention they sold for $60, yet scalpers were reselling them on ebay for $250. Just kidding, don’t panic. The following alternatives are what you should do.
- Get an emulator on your PC. I’ve had emulators on my PC, and play them with an classic controller that plugs into the computer. These controllers are easy to find. I bought one off ebay, it was super cheap. I’ve received a classic controller from an IGN loot box. I’ve also seen these at Game Ex-changers, and at Gamestop.
- Get an emulator on your phone or tablet. I’ve used an emulator on my tablet. I played Killer Instincts on mine. You don’t need a controller depending on the emulator. Some emulators have a built in touchscreen controller. You really limit your experience if you play with a touch screen, so I highly recommend getting a controller. If you do get a controller, you will need to buy a mini USB to USB adapter. This is the one I bought.
- If your main goal is to play retro games, you can buy retro games on your DS/Wii. You can buy retro from the Nintendo store. I have excite bike, classic super Mario brothers one and two on my DS.
- You can buy a super Nintendo, or cartridge system on Amazon. It will have the old school wires, but you can buy adapters. The downside is you have to buy the cartridges separately. Some deals come with games you have to look to see whats available at the time.
